Shopping at Singapore

Shopping is a great experience in Singapore. Numerous shopping malls are present in Singapore where prices are very competitive because of the low taxes and tariffs on imported materials. Due to consumer protection laws the shopkeepers are generally quite honest in Singapore. Goods are of good quality and most of them are made elsewhere. The shops are open on all the seven days from 10 to 10. Some shops that are placed outside the shopping malls are closed earlier i.e. at 7 pm. Mustafa in Little India is open everyday in a year. Singapore sale is also very famous usually held in the month of June-July. In this time the shopping centres showed their best and attract lot of buyers. Many shopping stores that are situated at Scotts Road or Orchard Road offer late night shopping. This happens on the last Friday of every month where 250 retailers staying open till midnight.

Books: Two main bookstores in Singapore can be named as Borders at Wheelock Place and Kinokuniya at Ngee Ann City. Both are situated on Orchard Road. These can be mentioned as the largest bookstores in Singapore. Many second hand bookstores are also located in Bras Basah Complex and Far East Plaza. There you can attempt to bargain in case you are buying a lot. The bookshops at the National University of Singapore can be said as the best for university textbooks. It has the best prices on the island and you can get up to 80% off compared to prices in the West.

Antiques: If you are looking for antiques you can visit the second floor of the Tanglin Shopping Centre. The shops on South Bridge Rd in Chinatown are also good options for antiques.
In Singapore every year millions of tourists come and they like the place because of many reasons where shopping comes in the top list.
